Queen's Justice

In a harrowing siege that claims the life of her father the King, Jorna Hailstone’s people are driven from the underground city of Dwenenar by hellish, draconic creatures. Now they must seek refuge from the neighboring kingdom of Hamdralg if they are to survive.

When it is finally revealed that the precious book of enchantments was left behind in their frantic evacuation, Jorna claims she is the only one with the knowledge to recover the artifact. Her plan to traverse the perilous mountains and reclaim the book by stealth is grudgingly accepted by Hamdralg’s King. She is then offered the choice of his finest warriors, but her sorrowful heart urges her to put faith in an unlikely champion.

Thane Stoutforge is little more than a blacksmith, but of all the men in Hamdralg he alone has faced these nightmarish creatures and survived. Wracked with guilt, plagued by grief, and captivated by the valorous princess of Dwenenar, Thane volunteers to serve Jorna on her quest.

Together they embark on a dangerous journey in the midst of winter. But should they endure the brutal wilds, they will soon discover that what's waiting for them in the conquered Dwenenar is far more sinister than expected. Will their courage hold or will they succumb to the blight of the wyrmkin?
